                    Celebrities Step Out to Show Their Compassionate Side at Worldfest 2010

(Los Angeles, CA) – It’s official: Hollywood has gone green. To prove it, the eco-conscious celebrity set is coming out in droves for WorldFest 2010, Los Angeles’s biggest vegetarian, solar-powered celebration of music, animals, and humanity.

On Sunday, May 16, stars from television, film, music and sports will be joined by healthy living experts and culinary maestros in Lake Balboa’s Woodley Park to bring issues near and dear to their hearts to a broad audience, and to inspire festival-goers to embrace compassionate living.

“We’re lucky to have so many talented, passionate voices take the stage at WorldFest this year,” says event co-producer and Toward Freedom President Jill Hahn. “They’ve each got something inspiring to share, and they’re wonderful examples of how we can all make a difference.”


The lineup includes TV’s Daniela Sea and John Salley, bestselling writers Kathy Freston and Rory Freedman, Oprah chef Tal Ronnen, skateboarding phenoms Ted Newsome and Laban Pheidias, and celebrity dog trainer Tamar Geller, among others. Sponsors spanning the green spectrum include VegNews Magazine, Sun Flour Baking Co., Session Pros, Jolly Llama, Guitar Center, Indie Printing, and The Healthy Voyager.


Now in its ninth year, WorldFest has established itself as LA’s premiere, pet- and family-friendly green event.                                        LA’s Music Scene Goes Green

(Los Angeles, CA) – What do you get when you mix music, sunshine, fabulous food, and a non-stop array of celebrity speakers who are passionate about animals, the environment, and healthy living? WorldFest 2010: Los Angeles’s biggest and best solar-powered celebration of all things green.

On May 16, WorldFest kicks off its 9th annual day of eco-conscious entertainment with celebrity guests including John Salley of TV’s “The Best Damn Sports Show Period,” bestselling author Rory Freedman, chef to the stars Tal Ronnen, and surprise musical acts representing the best in live rock, jazz, and world music.

Come and roam the green marketplace with more than 100 earth-friendly exhibitors, check out the eclectic array of global vegetarian cuisine in the fabulous food court, and relax with liquid refreshment at the Oasis beer and wine garden.

The family-friendly extravaganza offers dedicated entertainment areas for children to get active with their peers, and for pets to meet and mingle with other four-footed friends. Don’t have an animal companion? Now might be the time to add to the family: dogs and cats will be available on-site for adoption.

“This year’s event will prove once again just how cool compassion can be,” says co-producer Jill Hahn. “Saving the planet is a joint effort, and there’s nothing better than WorldFest for bringing together likeminded people who want to have fun and be entertained in a smart, sustainable way.”
